Today in the city

We spent this morning in San Francisco. The girls and I fed the ducks at the Palace of Fine Arts. Then we stopped by Chestnut Bakery in the marina. This mural is outside of La Boulange on Polk Street.

Happy Fourth of July

Today we went to the Fourth of July festival at Memorial Park just two blocks away. We also had a lemonade stand this afternoon but did not have too many walk-by customers, plus it was rather chilly in the shade. The lemonade was delicious though - made from lemons on our tree.  Sophia drew two pretty pictures today. One is pictured here and another I will post soon (a bunch of colorful poppies).

"I didn't get to see you after their playdate the other week, but oh my goodness how cute. They were playing cheetah family, with Sophia as the mom, Jasper chose to be the brother, and they were protecting their babies from all sorts of creatures. At one point Sophia was singing a little song about all the creatures who might visit them at their house in the forest, and I had to stop folding laundry downstairs so I could sit on the stairs and listen. So precious!"

Evelyn's birthday party

Sophia's "twin" from Baby Bear days, Evelyn, had her 5th birthday party yesterday at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park. A fairy arrived and led the kids in a lot of fun. I included a photo of a waterfall which could be seen from the picnic area. Sophia didn't know anyone at this party (except for Evelyn---and it has been two years since she has seen Evelyn so I am not sure she remembers her) and she joined right in the fun. No shyness at all.  Evelyn and Sophia were in Baby Bears together starting when they were 7 months old. Just for fun I should post a photo.
