Mari and Sophia with Lulu and Jessi

I love this one, too.

Artwork on second day of preschool

On her second day of preschool she drew another picture of me, this time surrounded by rosebuds.

Sophia's artwork on first day of preschool

On her first day of preschool Sophia drew this picture of me!

Mari and Lulu

Lulu Turns 2

Today was Lulu's birthday. Mari came over in the morning and we all walked up Solano together to the dog store to pick out some treats for her birthday. Sophia walked the whole way there and back. Thalia fell down and skinned both knees, but she still had fun anyway. Happening at the same time was the Walk for Breast Cancer. There were lots of people out on the street and many many admirers of Mari's dogs, Jessie and Lulu.

Duck's Nest photos

Here are three photos taken today at Ducks Nest. The top two were taken in Thalia's classroom (you can see out into the play yard) and the bottom was taken in Sophia's classroom. More details soon. Time for bed!

Portrait of the young woman as an artist

Here Sophia is posing with her drawing of a dog. You will see the black legs, the black nose with whiskers, brown spot around one of the eyes, red tongue. She says the dog is panting. She had me take several photos and she approved this one.

She drew all day today, even while we were on a walk, she had a clipboard and paper and crayons in her lap.

This expression reminds me of my Grandmother. Do you see it?

Photo from Armani's farewell party

My Dad and I

Here is a photo that I love - its of me and my Dad, when I was about 4.

More about the girls

Thalia can write the letter "T" and is quite proud of htis. Here are a few of her very own "T's". Today she also read the word "Dora" out of the blue. I looked over and saw the word on a piece of paper.

Sophia spends hours a day drawing pictures, all self-motivated. Its wonderful to see.

Today Sophia and I went over to Randall and Naomi's house to watch a movie: "Toy Story 1" and to have some lunch. She enjoyed the movie and spent more time drawing pictures outside on the patio while we all ate lunch. Ruby was there, too. Naomi taught Sophia how to scrape seeds from flowers in her garden sso that we could bring them home for our garden.

Last night we all went over to Tiffany an Glenn's to play board games and the girls brought their pajamas along and watched movies with Ronan and Garrett. When it came time for us to go home, Tiffany offered to let Sophia stay over. So she did! She was very upset when I came to pick her up this morning.

I will try to post photos of Sophia's drawings and Thalia's letters. I will also post photos from the California roadtrip.

Sophia with Nana

Sophia and Nana had a great time on our roadtrip. Lots of laughing! Here we were having dinner in San Luis Obispo on our way back up the coast.
