Graphic Novelist?

Steve predicts Sophia will be a graphic novelist. That is what he told me tonight. She still draws and makes books. Today at pick up, her teacher Olga showed me a book that Sophia made in class. It was carefully taped together and it was about a tree house. Olga asked if she could keep it in the classroom for a little while.

This image here is a dog with a red beret, something she made for her new friend Leila, from preschool. We all had lunch at Leila's house this past weekend. It was her first preschool playdate and it was a lot of fun.

Tonight after dinner Sophia set up a puppet show for us and used a sock as a puppet to tell the story of Little Red Riding Hood. She loves to tell stories and loves to make words "rhyme".

Thalia is getting more comfortable at preschool, and has started talking about her friends, Lily and Zola. She still cries at drop off but that only lasts a few minutes, the teachers say. She is very interested in her letters. "My letters" she says, referring to her wooden alphabet puzzle. She is very good at identifying these letters and will point out "L" for "Lily" and "Z" for "Zola", "T" for "Thalia", etc.

Both continue to dazzle us!

Steve plays a game with the girls that they love. Its called "throw monster" and involves throwing them on to the couch or onto our bed. They love this so much. And they love to be chased and flipped over and tickled. They certainly do get their fix of laughing every day!

I wonder if Sophia will grow up to be a graphic novelist?
