Toscana's 3rd Birthday Party

Warm Sunday Evening at the park

We've been blessed with beautiful sunshine and have been trying to dine al fresco in the backyard when we can. I am so happy it is corn season. We love corn! Hopefully soon my tomatoes will be ready to eat. I have a lot of green tomatoes in the backyard. We are also spending more time at the park. I love these long days. It gets dark after 9.

Stanford Jazz Instrument Petting Zoo and Afternoon Nap

On Saturday morning we drove down to Palo Alto for the kids to see the instrument petting zoo put on by Stanford Jazz Workshop. We need to do this more often. The kids really enjoyed it and we stayed on campus for awhile listening to more music outside and having lunch with the Jimmy, Elizabeth, and Jobi.

I couldn't resist taking this photo of Thalia napping on Sophia's bed. We are just about to start taking down the crib. Thalia is ready to sleep in her own big girl bed. But am I ready for Sophia to sleep on the top bunk?

We do love Picante!

Picante again, this time with Ronan

More Picante photos

An evening stroll after Picante

Last week after a yummy taco dinner at Picante we took a walk around the neighborhood. Of course I had my camera with me. Such cute models to practice on. I love the background on some of these photos of Thalia. Its a garage door just one block down from Picante.

More Stinson Beach photos and Sophia's Story for Daddy

A Boy Giraffe Named Rocco
By Sophia Savage
6/17/11

This is a story about a boy giraffe named Rocco, who was nice and liked to play with people.  One day he was taking a walk with Sophia when he found a big giraffe, who was king of all the giraffes, who was really mean.  Rocco used his power to scare the mean giraffe away. He turned his neck around and bent over and the king got scared and ran away.

Sophia watched Rocco scare the king away. She rode on the boy giraffe’s long neck all the way to Alaska where they saw a mean polar bear who was the king of all polar bears. Rocco was brave. Sophia was not brave, she was scared. She held on tight to the boy giraffe, who threw his foot around and tried to smash the polar bear but the polar bear did not get smashed. Then the polar bear kept running.  Then a rhino killed the polar bear with the horn on his nose.

Sophia was so happy and she said “Thank you, Rhino!”  Then the rhino went back home and Sophia found her Daddy in Alaska and her Mommy and her sister. Once the family was all together, they all picked pretty red leaves for the giraffe to eat.

And Rocco said, “Thank you!”

Father's Day at Stinson Beach, Happy Birthday, Steve!

We spent Father's Day (also Steve's birthday) at Stinson Beach. We got there early to beat the crowds, the fog burned off early and then we enjoyed abundant sunshine, a picnic on the beach, sandcastles, ice cream later on Fourth Street...  Happy Father's Day, Steve, Happy Father's Day, Dad.

Alexis' birthday party

Alexis and Rachel had a joint birthday party on June 18th at Memorial Park. Sophia played with Ronan most of the time. She still tells us that when she grows up she will marry Ronan. Steve tells her Ronan needs to ask his permission, and only after Sophia is 25! Sophia tells us that she is almost 5, and then she will almost be a grownup!

Nana's Birthday and Wawasi Party on June 18th

On June 18th we wished Nana a happy birthday. Hopefully soon I will be able to upload the video of Sophia and Thalia singing to her.  Happy Birthday, Nana!
That same day we went to a party at Wawasi. The kids did a little recital for the parents and then we all enjoyed food and music and dancing.
